Danie, voluntara noastră dragă din Austria a răspuns cu mare drag unul set de câteva întrebări ce privesc șederea ei în România. Cele trei cuvinte care o descriu perfect pe Danie sunt: energie, veselie și dăruire asta e Danie, o persoană minunată.

1. Cum te-ai simţit pe parcursul perioadei petrecute  în România?

M-am simţit întotdeauna foarte diferit în cele 5 luni pe care le-am petrecut în România. A fost mereu un proces cu urcuşuri şi coborâşuri şi cu multe experienţe din care am avut ceva de învăţat, câteodată provocări de înfruntat mai ales cele de limbaj. Deasemenea m-am simţit binevenită şi am simţit multă bunăvoinţă din partea oamenilor care mă înconjurau.

2. Care au fost lucrurile care ţi-au plăcut cel mai mult în această perioadă şi ce greutăți ai întâmpinat?

Mi-a plăcut foarte mult faptul că am putut sta cu tineri romani, însă a fost dificil pentru mine deoarece nu înţelegeam limba. Pentru mine comunicarea este foarte importantă deoarece comunicând poţi înţelege astfel gândurile oamenilor. Cel mai bine pentru mine a fost că m-am integrat foarte bine în viaţa oamenilor romani, dar şi rromi. Şi mi-am plăcut deasemenea simţul umorului pe care persoanele de aici îl au.

3. Acum că totul a ajuns la sfârşit, sunt unele lucruri pe care le-ai schimba?

Aş fii vrut să învăţ romana înainte să vin în România, mai ales pentru ca aşa puteam înţelege oameni mai în profunzime. Astfel aş fii putut învăţa şi mai multe despre ei.

4. A fost vreo acţiune sau un proiect în această perioadă care a avut un efect asupra ta schimbând modul tău de a fi?

În primele 2 zile de când am venit am vizitat familiile copiilor din Cozmeşti şi am vorbit cu ei. Acest lucru este un eveniment foarte important pentru mine deoarece am putut vedea de unde provin copii, familiile lor şi mediul social, şi astfel mi-a fost mult mai uşor să îi înţeleg situația lor.

5. Cum te-a schimbat pe tine această experienţă?

Să te adaptezi la un mediu social nou, acest lucru schimba pe orişicine, dar îţi ia ceva timp după ce ajungi în vechiul tău mediu social ca să îţi dai seama cum te-ai schimbat. În general aş putea spune că am o gândire mult mai deschisă şi deasemenea am învăţat multe despre oameni cu care am stat.

6. Ştim că te-ai ataşat foarte mult drag de voluntari de la Gipsy Eye şi mai ales de copiii de la Cozmeşti, cat de grea a fost despărţirea ?

Întotdeauna e greu să zici la revedere persoanelor care au devenit parte importantă din viaţa ta chiar şi pentru puţin timp, dar este foarte important ca întotdeauna să apreciezi totul şi să fii recunoscător pentru timpul pe care cineva îl poate petrece alaturi de tine, asta  contează cu adevărat în viaţă. Sper că ne vom revedea într-o bună zi din nou.

Energy and dedication = Danie

Danie, our dear voluntear from Austria response kindly to a grup of few questions that expose the time she spent in Romania. The three words that describe Danie perfectly will be: energy, happiness and dedication, this is Danie, a wonderful person.

1. How did you feel in the period you stayed in Romania?

I felt always very different in the 5 months I stayed in Romania.  It was always an up and down process with many learning experiences and sometimes challenges- especially language challenges. I also felt very welcomed and much care from all the people around me.

 2. What were the things that you liked the most in this period and the things you dislike? 

I liked very much that I could live with young Romanian people but it was difficult for me that I did not understand the language. For me communication is very important to understand people’s thoughts. The best to me was that I was so much integrated in the life of Romanian/Roma people. I also really like the sense of humour people have.

 3.Now that everything has come to an end , there  are some things that you would have changed?

I would have learned Romanian before I come to Romania, just because I would have been able to understand the people ‘s thought deeper. So, I could have even learnt more about them. 

4. It was an event or project in this periode that has a huge impact on you or change you in some way?

On two days of my stay we visited the families of the children from Cozmesti to talk with them. This was a very important event for me because I could see where the children come from- their family and social background and I think so it was more easier for me to understand them.

 5. How this whole experience changed you?

Adapting to a new social environment always changes one, but it takes some time after in your old environment to find out how you changed. In general I would say that I became more open- minded and of course I learned a lot about the people I lived with.

6. We know that you  get to love the volunteers  of Gipsy Eye very much  and mostly the childrens from Cozmesti. How was the break up from everyone?

It is always very hard to say- good bye to people which are a big part of some period of your life but for me it is always very important to appreciate and be thankful for the time one can spend with meaningful people and I really hope I will see them again somewhere.
