Me voilà de retour en Moldavie après 10 jours de voyage à Cluj et à Rosia Montana. Comme toute voyageuse curieuse de découvrir le pays dans lequel on arrive, j’avais besoin de partir à la découverte d’autres régions, d’autres Roumains, d’autres paysages. En arrivant, j’ai tout de suite entendu parler de ces manifestations dans tout le pays pour sauver Rosia Montana de ce projet minier qui met en péril l’écologie et la vie des personnes y vivant. Avec un ami, nous sommes donc partis voir ce qu’il s’y passait réellement. Nous nous sommes arrêtés à Cluj-Napoca, parmi les milliers de personnes qui manifestent, et qui se font de plus en plus nombreuses. Puis nous sommes allés rejoindre ce beau village qu’est Rosia Montana. Les montagnes sont si magnifiques qu’on ne peut imaginer que si le projet minier se réalise, elles seront remplacées par un cratère et un lac de cyanure. L’atmosphère là-bas est spéciale et doit être difficile à vivre pour les habitants. Il y a beaucoup de militants écologistes, venus de toute l’Europe. Certains habitants combattent le projet depuis 17 ans, pour protéger leurs terres. D’autres habitants souhaitent voir le projet minier se réaliser pour trouver du travail. Il y a tant d’hstoires politiques et économiques derrière ce projet que cela en devient effrayant. On pense que c’est un simple village de montagne et pourtant c’est bien plus que ça aujourd’hui. Je reviens heureuse d’avoir découvert cet endroit, cette lutte, qui fait aussi partie de la Roumanie. Ici, à Pascani, on lutte contre les discrimations. Là-bas, à Cluj, à Rosia Montana, les gens se battent contre le capitalisme, un désastre humain et écologique. Mais au fond, on se bat tous pour la même chose : pour la paix, la liberté, pour les êtres humains, pour la vie. Laëtitia.

I’m back in Moldova after 10 days in Cluj and Rosia Montana. As any curious traveller, I need to visit this country, discover the differents regions, the differents Romanian people, the differents landscapes. So as I heard about all the demonstration to save Rosia Montana from the mining project, we went there with a friend to see what was really going on. We stoped in Cluj to see thousands of people demonstrating in the street and went to this beautiful village in the mountains : Rosia Montana ! The moutains are so beautiful that I can’t even imagine this become a big cratere. The atmosphere here is strange and it must be hard for the habitants. There are many ecological activist, from everywhere in Europe, who comes for few days to volunteering. Some habitants fight against the project since 17 years : this fight became their life goal. Some habitants want all this thing stop. They want a job, they want the mining project begin even if they have to move. There are many political and economics stakes behind Rosia Montana. It’s seems to be a peacefull beautiful village in the mountains but it’s more than this. And I’m so happy to have discovered this because Rosia Montana is also part of Romania. Here in Pascani, we fight discrimination. There, in Cluj, in Rosia Montana, they fight against capitalism and ecological desaster. Anyway, here or there, we all fight for the same thing : for peace, for freedom, for people, for life. Laëtitia.
