En fouillant un peu dans les armoires, on a découvert des trésors cachés : des costumes traditionnels roms, que les enfants  n’ont pas tardé à enfiler. On aurait dit un vrai défilé de mode.

Rummaging through the cupboards, we found some hidden treasures : traditional Roma clothes, which the children didn’t wait to put on. It looked like a genuine fashion show.

Et en parlant de défilé de mode… Mardi, nous sommes intervenus dans un cours de français à Pascani. Alice, notre amie professeure et volontaire, avait donné un exercice aux élèves : noter sur leurs cahiers ce qui leur passait par la tête quand ils pensaient à la France. Et là, surprise : bien sûr, la Tour Eiffel et le fromage étaient partout… mais en compagnie de Coco Chanel et de Louis Vuitton ! Nous n’imaginions pas que ces deux noms étaient connus en Roumanie. En tout cas nous, on privilégie l’élégance en toute circonstance !

Speaking of fashion show… on Tuesday  we attended a french class in Pascani. Alice, our friend who’s both a teacher and a volunteer, gave the teenagers an exercice : to write down what went through their minds when they thought about France. It was a surprise : obviously the cheese and the Eiffel Tower could be found on every notebooks… but in the compagny of Coco Chanel and Louis Vuitton. We could’nt imagine that these two names were so famous in Romania. Anyway, we definitely favour elegance at all times ! 

 

De toute façon, quel que soit notre style vestimentaire, on s’est tous salis les baskets pour notre verger solidaire : et qu’ils s’appellent Marie ou Mihaela, Bogdan ou Timothée, tous les participants ont eu droit à leur petite étiquette sur leur arbre. On espère qu’ils grandiront vite !

The way we dress ourselves doesn’t matter that much :  every one of us got his trainers dirty for our supportive orchard. Whether they’re called Marie or Mihaela, Bogdan or Timothée, every participant get his little label on his tree. We hope they will grow fast !
